This Saturday, February 26th would have marked the 79th birthday of “Our Founder”, the one and only “Man In Black”: Johnny Cash. Today, Legacy Recordings released “From Memphis to Hollywood: Bootleg Vol. 2”, a collection of radio performances and demos from Cash’s early days and various oddities and unreleased tracks from throughout his career.
Dirty Roots Radio has 8 copies of “From Memphis to Hollywood: Bootleg Vol. 2” to give away. In celebration of Cash’s birthday we’re asking you to WEAR BLACK FOR JOHNNY CASH on Friday, February 25th.
Why a day before his actual birthday? Because Friday is a weekday and if you wear all black to work, you’ll have many more opportunities to tell folks WHY you’re wearing black to work…and that’s what it’s all about; spreading the gospel.
So, on Friday, February 26th, wear all black for Johnny Cash. Then, post a photo of you all decked out on the Dirty Roots Radio Facebook page. We’ll give a copy of “From Memphis to Hollywood: Bootleg Vol. 2” to the first eight people to post photos AFTER 9 a.m. (Central) this Friday.
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT DIRTY ROOTS RADIO EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT FROM 8 TO 10 P.M. (CENTRAL) ON WGRN 89.5 FM, OR LISTEN ONLINE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AT WWW.WGRN.NET. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO TUNE IN AND TO JOIN OUR FACEBOOK PAGE!
